Taher Mohamed Taher, Al Ahly’s winger, spoke on Thursday about the team’s preparations for Saturday’s encounter against C.F. Monterrey of Mexico in the preliminary round of the FIFA Club World Cup.
In an exclusive interview with us, Taher expressed his emotions on to what it feels like to participate with Al Ahly in the competition for the second consecutive season and talked about the team’s ambitions ahead of the tournament.
“I’m very excited to participate for the second time in the competition with Al Ahly. It’s a good feeling to be playing at an Arab country. Hopefully, we will have the same support from our fans as we did last year when we were playing in Qatar.”
“Playing in this competition means that you’ll get to face teams who have a different style of play than ours. We started preparing for Saturday’s game and we watched several videos of the opponent.”
“I try to do my best here at Al Ahly. I always concentrate in the training sessions. Of course, the circumstances are different than last year; however, everyone is up to the challenge.”
“Having the support of the fans will motivate us to do our best. We are eager to repeat last year’s achievement if not even reach a better position this year.”
